Hi everyone! I’m Irene Tan from Malaysia. I’m so honored to be given the opportunity to guest design for My Paper Tree House. Their kit is so inspiring and I’ve come up with this little tutorial where you can add some cool textures onto your embellishment. Enjoy!
Technique: Add textures and depth to the cut-out butterflies.
Steps:
1. Cut out some butterflies from the pattern paper.
2. Cut out part of the butterflies to create a more interesting pattern.
3. Add textures to the butterflies using the flocking technique. Apply some glossy accents or glue on parts of the butterflies and pour some white fun flock over it. Tilt off the excess and let it dry.
4. Use a brush and some distress ink reinker to lightly paint around the flock areas to create depth and a more natural look on the flocking.
This is the layout I created using this technique:
Enjoy!!
