It has been a while since I get to scrap just for the sake of creating my way, in my style. I have had to alter my work to meet the needs of many of my customers, but yesterday I got to REALLY enjoy creating a journal. I took pictures along the way, so that if you get inspired, you too would be able to create one just like it. Here is the finished product:
Hace tiempo que no logro crear algo que sea mi estilo, pues muchas veces tengo que alterar mi trabajo para agradar y acoplarme al estilo de mis clientes, pero ayer logré sentarme a crear un diario.  Decidí tomarle fotos mientras lo creaba por si alguien se inspiraba y deseaba crear algo similar.  Aquí está el producto final:

The quote on the cover says: Like the Butterfly I Will Awaken in HIS Time. I fell in love with the Botanica paper from Graphic 45 and had no other option than to give in to the temptation of creating a journal that I can add pages to. So the final outcome of the entire album is this:
La cita en la parte de alfrente de el diario dice: Como una mariposa, en Su tiempo despertaré.  Me enamoré de la línea de papel Botanica de Graphic 45 asi que no tuve otra opción que el darme por vencida cuando la tentación de crear este diario, al cual le puedo añdir páginas, surgió.  El resultado completo de este álbum es el siguiente: 

Page 1 and 2/ Página 1 y 2:
These pages have some of my favorite elements in them: butterflies, starfish, seashells… My favorite detail in this page is this one:

I love the texture and the dimension that the starfish adds here… 🙂

Pages 3 and 4/ Página 3 y 4:Out of these pages it is a no brainer that the butterfly is my FAVORITE!! I truly believe that I experienced a metamorphosis when I met Christ as my Savior, so I tend to really identify myself with them.
Mientras miras esta páginas se que te haz dado cuenta que me FASCINAN las mariposas!!!  Estoy convencida de que yo, al igual que una mariposa, pude experimentar una metamorfosis cuando conocí a Jesucristo como mi Salvador.  Por esto es fácil el identificarme con ellas.

I tried to make it seem as if it was ready to take off… (That is how I usually feel LOL)
Aquí elevé las alas de la mariposa para hacerla lucir como si se quisiera ir volando de la página… (Muchas veces me siento así yo misma LOL)

And now for the Tutorial/ Aquí el tutorial:

To make the actual album I cut out the shape of the butterfly using the cricut and used the cutout to trace the image onto chipboard.
Para crear el álbum corté la forma de mariposa de un papel usando el Cricut.  Luego dibujé la mariposa en un pedazo de cartón para poder cortarla con tijeras.
 Once I cut out the Butterfly, I drew with a pencil where I wanted the division of colors:
Después de cortar la mariposa, con un lápiz dibuje las divisiones que quería distinguir con colores diferentes:
I did not want the butterfly to look traditional so I decided that instead of using entire sheets of paper to cover the chipboard, I should tear paper into tiny pieces and cover it that way. 
Yo no quería que la mariposa luciera tradicional así que decidí cortar pedazitos de papel para pegarlos alrededor de las diferente areas delineadas, en vez de usar la hoja completa e intacta.

I began close to the edges and then proceeded to fill in each area according to the color and the pattern I chose for that area.
Comenzé por las orillas, cosa de poder definir las áreas claramente con colores diferentes.  Luego rellené el resto de el área con el color adecuado.Notice that I left an area without covering… To cover that I used the Graphic 45 number/letter sheet that is double sided. I really liked the polka-dot pattern that was on the back of the sheet, so it turned out to be perfect to cover this area.
Quiero que notes que dejé una porción que no estaba cubierta.  Si conoces la línea de Graphic 45, viene una hoja de letras y números.  La parte de atrás de esa hoja tiene “polka dots”, así que tomé esos círculos y los usépara cubrir esa parte.Once I did that, I inked the butterfly with different Distress Inks and I drew the “veins” with a black pen following the design the Graphic 45 paper butterflies had.
Cuándo el álbum estaba ya cubierto completamente, le añadí color usando la tinta Distress, y le dibujé las “venas” con un marcador negro tratando de copiar el patrón de las alas de mariposas que estaban en el papel de Graphic 45. These steps you follow twice: to create the front and back cover of the album. (This is what the finished back cover looks like. Since it is meant to be a journal, I did not want the back of the album to be too bulky.) This is the finished cover and a close up of the starfish: 
Los pasos antes mencionado tienes que repetirlos para completar la parte de atrás de el álbum. (Esta foto enseña cómo luce el álbum por detrás.  Como es un diario no quise que fuera a quedar un poco levantado para poder escribir en el.)  En la foto de abajo se ve la portada ya completada y una foto cercana de la estrella de mar:

To cover each page, I used the cricut to cut the shape of the butterfly and Glossy accents to adhere it.
Para cubrir cada página corté el papel utilizando el Cricut y utilizé Glossy Accents para pegarlo. 
Because it is a journal, and I am completely inept when it comes to writing neatly, I decided to take some pages from my other journal and tear them in order to add them to the chipboard. 
Cómo se supone que sea un diario, y yo no soy muy buena escribiendo en una línea recta decidí arrancar varias hojas de otro diario para luego pegárselas a las páginas:
I then proceeded to add the journaling page along with other embellishments and gave each page a distressed look using Distress Inks.
