Well I have used all of my Echo Park kit except a couple of stickers from my 12×12 sticker sheet I received. So what did I make you ask? Well, I made TWO mini albums with more than 12 pages each album AND four cards. I have been telling everyone how much product you get in these kit and this is proof. I dont have any more paper left but I still have ALOT of alphas left from my 12×12 sticker sheet and a fair amount left from my embellie sticker sheet. Not bad right?

Here are a couple of pics from my second album, which I am donating by the way to the Susan G. Komen fight for the cure.

I got my kit in the mail for SEPTEMBER and I already know what album I am making with it. The only hint I will give you is that it will be shaped to match the kit theme. Be sure to head on over to the MPTH store and BUY YOUR KIT!!

More Monthly Kit Goodness with Echo Park

Here are some cards I made using the “Life Is Good” collection from Echo Park. I love this collection and I love getting my monthly kits from My Paper Tree House.

I still have lots of product left so I am going to make some more cards. I just love the colors and patterns with this line.

Things I Love About You

Since I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE making mini albums I decided to make an album of my not so little girl. I used the MPTH August kit that was filled with Echo Park “Life Is Good” goodness. If you have not already signed up for the monthly kit, you TRULY are missing out. There are tons of embellies, paper, ribbon and random trinkets you can’t get with any other kit. Soooo… moving on, I loved that I had fabric in my kit because I really do love mixed media and lots of TEXTURE. Yeah, so I was definitely a very happy girl.

I wrapped the fabric to the lower part of my chipboard cover.
Then I added cute pattern paper to the top of cover.

I also wanted to bring up another subject, since it pertains to my album. I don’t usually scrap chronologically. There are reasons for that. The main reason is that when my daughter Vanessa was little, I was busy being a mom and working 60+ hours a week so I didn’t pay much attention to the photos I took of my angel pie (yes, I totally regret it now, but that’s life, lets move on).

So I have a huge box of unorganized photos and most of them do not have places, dates or captions on the back. So what would you do? Well, rather than make myself crazy about my box of photos, I went a different route. I scrap by Theme rather than by year, especially since I can’t remember any dates (age is setting in). I like this method because it frees me up for what I “feel” like scrapping. I do not get caught up in having to scrap the next event in my year book because I have several books going at the same time. For example my Holiday or my Vacation albums.

Having said that, I do (NOW) put years and captions on my current photos, but it is so much easier to do that since we have digital cameras and computers to organize our photos. So my mini album is about Vanessa and the Things I love About Her. Not a year or an event. I picked out cute photos of my baby girl (she will always be my baby) and I journaled about my angel pie’s character rather than the date I took the photo.

You got a full sheet of journal blocks and titles in the kit.
That made it so easy to use

The kit had lots of prima flowers!! Yeah!!

The kit also had book pages in it, I love the vintage
feel you get from newsprint

I loved the Jenni Bowlin buttons we got in the kit

I made this pink rose bud out of
scraps of t-shirt material

These cute crocheted flowers was part of my fab aug kit

I love the anticipation when I see the mail lady. I run up to her, and ask “did I get my kit?”. My mail lady thinks I am crazy, but that’s ok cause its true 🙂

Fabric flower challenge

If you have the MPTH August kit, you have that awesome little swatch of fabric on hand. It has great colors, doesn’t it? And it goes so well with the kit!

Some of you have completed already or are working on this month’s Sketch Challenge. If you haven’t made your page yet, I challenge you to add a fabric flower to your page.

If you already made your page using the sketch, let’s make another one!! I would love to see a page, card or project using a fabric flower you’ve made.

I couldn’t resist the urge to make a very, merry pepperminty holiday card using the wonderful papers in the My Paper Tree House August kit.

And that bow!! It plays tricks with your eyes sometimes, but it was a great addition to my wintery card.

Brighten things up with My Paper Tree house August kit!!

As soon as I saw Echo Park in the kit…I got excited! Everyone knows that I LOVE Echo Park!!!

The August kit has everything from the Life is Good collection in it!!!

So you can do all kinds of fun stuff with it.

For this first layout I cut down the brown pattern paper small enough so I could see a lot of the blue pattern paper.

Notice the top right? I cut down the left side of the top SMALLER than the right side. Below I have a picture to show you.

This layout was so easy to create!!

I cut down the pretty shaped paper to the size that I wanted it and put one piece on the left and one on the right. I added little black dots to the border using my Sakura Glaze Pen.

This is a project that I’m going to be teaching but wanted to show you because it’s using all the new ECHO PARK line!!!
