One of the things I have discovered by spending some time in the crafting and creative world is that deep inside we all have a strong desire to do what we love for a living. \u00a0We all have dreams of being able to sell what we create with our hands and make enough money so that we are able to stay home and actually have a valid reason for spending the entire day creating! \u00a0Interestingly enough, even if this is the desire of our hearts, very few brave souls actually venture out to do what they love. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With this in mind I have decided to put together a set of posts that should help you move on towards making your decision of getting your creative business off the ground. \u00a0It might take you a little while before it looks the way you imagined it- but the important thing is that you actually take the time to work your way towards that goal. About once a week I will be posting a set of tips, ideas, or plain tricks to inspire you to take action towards you reaching your goals – so if there is something specific you want me to share with you, leave me a comment with your questions or ideas, and I will create a post to fit your needs. \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/p>\n

Your Creative Business Goals: A Hobby or a Business?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Creative people tend to be a bit sporadic and free-spirited. \u00a0This is a great tool to make beautiful and spontaneous art, but it is a “not-so-great” tool when you are trying to build a business. \u00a0One of the biggest problems crafters face is that they have so much fun doing what they love, that they have a very hard time drawing a definite line between what is a hobby and a business. \u00a0So the very first things you need to do is decide what is the goal of your craft business:<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Do you just want to make enough money to keep up with your paper addiction?<\/span><\/li>\n
2. Do you want extra cash to go shopping?<\/span><\/li>\n
3. Do you want to supplement your income?<\/span><\/li>\n
4. Do you want to save money to purchase a house?<\/span><\/li>\n
5. Do you want your creative business to produce enough money to support your family?<\/span><\/li>\n
6. Do you want to make enough money that you can bless others as well?<\/span><\/li>\n
7. Do you get the point? (LOL)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

   Depending on what the ultimate goal for your business is, you have to set up an action plan that actually aids you in reaching that goal. \u00a0Once you have the end in mind, you will then be able to generate a logical step-by-step plan to take you towards that goal. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
